Dr. Alex West is a Tennessee native from Goodlettsville, TN. He is a board-certified, residency-trained Sports Clinical Specialist in Physical Therapy. Alex attended Cumberland University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training in 2018. Following graduation, he served as the Head Athletic Trainer of Jo Byrns High School. During this time, he was honored at the NFL 101 Awards and given the Lifesaver Recognition Award from the Tennessee Athletic Trainers Society for performing CPR on an injured football player.
Alex later earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Western Kentucky University in 2022. He then completed a Sports PT residency at Vanderbilt and Belmont University, where he served as the team physical therapist for Vanderbilt University Athletics and as a professor in Belmont University’s DPT Program.
His clinical interests include treating lower extremity athletes, return to sport testing, dry needling, and return to performance training. He is passionate about helping his patients achieve their active and performance-based goals.
Outside of work, his hobbies include traveling with his wife, Hannah, taking his dogs to the park, and all things soccer.
